"I recently participated in a walk organised by Lee Valley Walking. It was a truly enjoyable experience. The guide knew the area and the history so well. The atmosphere in the group was welcoming and we walked at a pace that suited everyone in the group. A wonderful experience in a most scenic area. I look forward to taking part in more of the walks." G. Ryan March 2009

Wednesday evening walks May to August
In 2010 we will celebrate ten years of Wednesday evening summer walks. Keep an eye out for the programme of hill and low level walks with a variety of routes to suit all interests.

Irish language walks
Siuloidi as Gaeilge

Tá na siuloidi oiriúnach do dhaoine atá ag foghlaim na teangan.
Uaireanta is dócha go mbíonn eagla ar dhaoine atá ar bheagáin Gaeilge nách mbeidis in ann comhrá a choimeád le daoine atá lán líofa, agus ní bhíonn deis acu labhairt le chéile go neamhfhoirmúil.
Ní ranganna atá i gceist anseo in aon chor agus níl aon teagasc ar fáil. Deis atá ann chun muinín a thabhairt dóibh as a gcumas labhartha.

Participants in Lee Valley Walking events have found that walking ‘as Gaeilge’ or using the Irish language is an excellent way of improving their command of the spoken language in a relaxed atmosphere outside of the classroom.
All walks are Irish friendly and all it takes is two people with an interest in improving their ‘cúpla focal’ (or ‘few words of Irish’) to start up a conversation in the language. Bilingual events can also be arranged in english and ‘as Gaeilge’.
